The patterns for this stole have been taken from the three-volume stitch dictionary of Austrian stitches, Bauerliches Stricken, by Lisl Fanderl, published by Rosemheimer
The wrap is knitted in two pieces, from the ends, and grafted together in the centre. It can easily be made longer or shorter. It can also be made in different thicknesses of yarn.
MATERIALS
200g/800m 4 ply yarn
I used Eden Cottage Yarns Askham 4 ply; 70% baby alpaca, 30% silk; 50g/200m; 4 balls
pair 5mm (US8) needles
2 stitch markers
Tapestry needle
SIZE
60 x 180 cm after blocking
TENSION
13 sts and 25 rows to 10cm over stitch patterns using 5mm needles.
