I live and on the Orkney Mainland, on the edge of Kirkwall. In the summer life is geared round tourism and outside, while in the short, cold days of winter life is community-based and inside!

Whenever I take the dogs out I take a camera. I love the colours and textures of the land and the sky through each season.

I design and knit both in the local North Ronaldsay yarn and others, such as ColourMart cashmere, and Jamieson and Smith’s Shetland wool. I specialise in designs bringing traditional patterns, especially Shetland lace, Fair Isle and ganseys, to a new audience.

My other love is teaching, but I can't easily do classes. So I have produced a variety of workbooks for knitting and spinning, allowing folk all over the world to get the chance to do a workshop with me!
