A warm scarf, hat and mittens for all the family
Materials
For the hat:
1 (1, 1, 1) x 100g ball Jamieson & Smith Chunky Shetland wool
pair 5 and 6 mm (US 8 and 10) needles
2 x 6 mm cable needles or dpns for i-cord
tapestry needle for sewing up
For the mitts:
1 (1, 1, 2) x 100g ball J&S Chunky wool
pair 5 and 6 mm (US 8 and 10) needles
tapestry needle for sewing up
For the Scarf:
1 (2, 3, 4) x 100 g ball J&S Chunky wool for the plain scarf and a total of 100 (200, 300, 400) g for the striped scarf
pair 6 mm (US 10) needles
tapestry needle for sewing up
crochet hook for making fringe if desired
Sizes
XS (S, M, L) hat and mitts to fit toddler (child, teen, adult). Note that the XS mitts do not have a thumb. Scarf is 5 (6.5, 8, 9.5) ins wide and 34 (48, 66, 80) ins long. The length is easily adjustable.
Tension
16 sts and 22 rows to 4 ins over pattern on 6 mm needles
