a traditional Northern Isles gansey knitted in the traditional way, but with slightly bigger needles for today’s fit. A unisex gansey in sizes to fit all the family.


Materials
Frangipani 5 ply wool as shown in the table
3 and 3.5 mm (US 3 and 4) circular needle
thin needle for picking up stitches
cable needle
row counter
waste yarn for provisional cast on

Tension
32 sts and 36 rows over the body or yoke pattern on 3.5 mm needles after washing and blocking

To fit: 24 (28, 32, 36, 40, 45, 50, 54, 58, 64) ins
Actual chest: 27 (31.5, 36, 40.5, 45, 49.5, 54, 58.5, 63, 67.5) ins
Length: 22 (24, 26, 27.5, 28, 28.5, 29, 29.5, 30, 31) ins
Sleeve length: 16 (17, 18, 19, 19, 20, 20, 21, 21, 23) ins
No of cones 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4) cones
(Length and sleeve easily adjustable)
