Only in large sizes, this tunic makes use of a variety of Shetland patterns in the yoke.
Things you need to know to make the tunic:
Materials
300, (350, 400, 450, 500) g 4 ply/fingering yarn
lengths of contrasting waste yarn
3.75 and 6 mm circular needles (US 5 and 10)
3.75 and 6 mm straight needles
row counter
Size
Actual hip measurements: 53, (58, 63, 68, 73) ins
Sleeve length 16 ins (adjustable)
Length 30 ins or length required
Tension
24 sts to 6 ins and 24 rows to 4 ins over Miniature Leaf pattern AFTER washing and dressing.
Notes:
The tunic is worked from the top down, returning to the neckband last of all. After the yoke is knitted in the round, the sleeves are knitted flat, and sewn up, before the body is continued in the round.
Choose your size based on your hip size UNLESS you bust is 4 ins or more larger than you hips. The yoke is stretchy and will accommodate bulges!!
Instructions are written out and charts are all given at the end of the pattern. Note that Cockleshell does not chart in any sensible or useful way, so it is not given!
