Type of yarn: The scarves can be made from any of ColourMart’s aran weight yarns, or 2 strands of the DK yanrs, or 3 strands of fingering.
Weight of Yarn: The exact weight required depends on the yarn and the length of scarf. The Chevron scarf is the densest, and will take about 80 g of merino or 70 g cashmere per 12 ins of scarf for the adult versions. The Cable and Diamond scarf and the Dashes scarf take about 60 g merino or 50 g cashmere per 12 ins, and the others about 50 g merino or 45 g cashmere per 12 ins. The boys’ scarves take about 35 g yarn per 12 ins. A fringe will take an extra 35 g yarn.
