Larger sizes are designed with larger cables, not acres of filling stitches, so the sweater looks right on all sizes.
Materials
220 (300, 350, 400, 500, 550, 600, 700, 800, 900) grams
660 (900, 1050, 1200, 1500, 1800, 2100, 2400, 2700) yards DK yarn
(I used ColourMart 70% cashmere, 30% merino)
3.75 and 4.5 mm (US 5 and 7) needles for body and sleeves
3.75 mm (US 5) dpns or circ for neck
Sizes
To fit boys aged up to 5 (8, 10, 12) years. Actual chest 26 (30, 34, 36)”
Men’s sizes to fit 34 (38, 42, 46, 50, 54)”. Actual chest 38 (41, 45, 48, 53, 56)”
Tension
19 sts and 32 rows to 4” on 4.5 mm needles over the side panel stitch pattern. One 8 st repeat of the centre trellis is about 1.25” wide.
Notes
The pattern will work for most DK yarns, but you MUST check your tension.
The pattern is written out twice, once for Boy’s sizes and once for Men’s sizes.
